Educational workshop for the youngest (children over 4)

A „ Portrait Painting Firm” will be opened at ms2 modelled after the activities of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz. Its founders will learn not only about Witkacy’s creative personality but also the financial and legal rules governing the art market. The participants of a two-part workshop will gain the ability of characterising types of portraits and of analysing a ready-made work of art.
The first meeting will be devoted to the history of Witkacy’s „Portrait Painting Firm” and a discussion of selected rules taken from its regulations. Different types of portraits and the possibilities of characterising a model by means of colour, line, background, attributes will be important. The participants will conclude the meeting by taking a few portrait photos.
the second meeting will begin with a talk about the print-outs of the photos. Its culmination will be putting together a collage portrait of an enormous size (pair work). Dialogue between the participants will help to create a deep psychological portrait.
Note: the workshop includes two meetings. The same group of participants meets twice.
