Revitalization of the infrastructure of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź - Gdańska 43 - information about the project

Implementation of the project entitled The revitalization of the infrastructure of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź - Gdańska 43, is a response to the exceptionally poor technical condition of the building, which may pose a risk of construction disaster, and its incompatibility with modern standards enabling the development of the institution's activities and offer in the ms¹ building at Więckowskiego 36 St., as well as the lack of rooms for educational activities and the implementation of the program accompanying exhibitions, which results in a large disproportion in the number of people visiting the museum buildings - ms1 and ms2, in favor of the latter. As a result of the investment, in which actual construction works began in March 2017, buildings B and C - which are part of the museum's headquarters - will be rebuilt and added to. The investment will enable the safe and proper functioning of a specialized library with unique collections, which had to be moved to other rooms of the museum for security reasons. So far, in the msl building, disabled people cannot use the institution's offer due to architectural and conservation restrictions, which could not be eliminated during the revitalization of building A (Maurycy Poznański Palace, where the exhibition rooms are located). It is planned to connect buildings B and C with building A through a passage and to install elevators in them, which will enable disabled people to participate in the activities proposed by the museum. The project also includes the purchase of equipment for cultural activities.
