Concert of Zygmunt Krauze in Venice
The ongoing exhibition "Form Condensation Center - Stefan Krygier" in Venice, organized by the Museum Sztuki in Łódź, is accompanied by a program of artistic events, the first of which will be a concert by an outstanding representative of the avant-garde in Polish music, the creator of unist music - composer Zygmunt Krauze. The concert will resound in the space of the CREA Cantieri del Contemporaneo gallery in Venice's Giudecca on July 12.

In his musical work, Zygmunt Krauze drew heavily on inspiration from the visual arts. The key here were unist pieces, composed in the early 1960s as a musical response to the impulse coming from the avant-garde painting of Władysław Strzemiński. Krauze also created sound environments and installations, and took part in happenings collaborating with the Foksal Gallery. He is the creator of the first spatial and musical compositions in Poland, which were created in cooperation with architects. One of the important chapters in the composer's work is theatrical music composed, among others, by for productions at the Comédie-Française and the Theater National de la Colline in Paris. The Museum Sztuki in Łódź, guided by the composer's special predilection for the work of Władysław Strzemiński, for the collection of visual arts gathered in the ms collection, and for decades particularly associated with the history of the museum and its activity on the global art market, made an unprecedented purchase of all works by Zygmunt Krauze (120 scores with the rights to unistic works, and the most valuable part of the composer's correspondence, i.e. nearly 400 letters from Nadia Boulanger, Pierre Boulez, John Cage, Nyman, Andriesen, Xenakis, among others.
Another event accompanying the exhibition will be a show of works by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, awarded in the competition named after Władysław Strzemiński. The winners of the competition with a 40-year tradition will present their creative projects in the spaces of the CREA Cantieri del Contemporaneo cultural center on the island of Giudecca in Venice. It is worth recalling that the above-mentioned events accompany the jubilee exhibition, falling on the 100th anniversary of Stefan Krygier's birth, which consists of: "Form Condensation Center" - a monumental composition summarizing the artist's efforts to synthesize spatial forms and painting, as well as architectural designs and spatial models.
