The heart of the country - artistic project by Jadwiga Sawicka for the exhibition "Warning! Border"

Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź was invited to join "Serce kraju" (The heart of the country), an artistic project by Jadwiga Sawicka and a part of the "Uwaga! Granica" (Warning! Border) exhibition organized by the Labirynt Gallery in Lublin and Arsenał Gallery in Białystok.

The flag with the slogan - Serce kraju - sets the emotional center of Poland. Because the center is mobile, so are the borders. The arbitrary choice of the center of the country, as well as the flexibility of its borders, further underline how superficial they really are.

As part of a collaboration within the project, Muzeum Sztuki will present the flag on the facade of the ms2 building (ul. Ogrodowa 19). The heart of the country beats wherever art is shown and celebrated. Photographs of the flag, as well as documentation from previous hosts of the project, will become a part of the exhibition in the Labirynt Gallery in Lublin (from 31.08  to 10.10.2017) and the Arsenał Gallery in Białystok (from 02.09 to 10.10.2017).
