The Opening of the Open Storage

Thanks to the resources obtained from the European Union Funds, the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź completed the 2-year construction project of a modern Open Storage at Więckowskiego 36. The unique character of the new space in an uncompromising way combines strict rules for securing collections and requirements for storing works of art with interesting and convenient methods for sharing museum collections. The construction of the Open Storage allows the educators to show the museum "from behind the curtain". We offer workshops on such important subjects for the museum as collection, transport and storage of artworks, arranging exhibition spaces, and preservation of works of art.

The schedule of the first workshop and concert organized to celebrate the completion of the Open Storage at the branch of the Muzeum Sztuki at Więckowskiego 36 on 12th May:

ART WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN

We invited children from the age of 7 to participate in free workshops which were held in the newly opened space of the Open Storage of the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź. The classes devoted to contemporary art were run by the employees of the Museum Education Department. The workshops were intended to familiarize the participants with the problem of storing works of art. Under the tutelage of educators, those participating in the workshops learned details concerning the different ways of storing modern and contemporary works of art, depending on their type (painting, sculpture, etc.)

BNNT CONCERT

On Saturday evening in the courtyard of the Muzeum Sztuki at Więckowskiego 36, it was possible to see how "densely" two instruments can sound. Especially when one of them is a set of drums, and the other one is a baritone string bullet project of an own design. It was a pleasure to invite you to the concert of BNNT group. 

This was not an ordinary ensemble, it was an experiment. It was Konrad Smoleński and Daniel Szwed, an uncompromising duo without shirts, but in balaclavas, whose performance was a guarantee of extreme visual and audio experience. The artists represent the independent recording studio- Instant Classic, for which they recorded a well-received album Multiverse. 

The project was co-financed under Measure 8.1 of the Priority Axis VIII Protection of Cultural Heritage and Development of Cultural Resources of the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014- 2020.
