We invite you to take part in a symposium accompanying the exhibition Robert Morris. Notes On Sculpture. Objects, Installations, Films. It is the first individual exhibition of Robert Morris’ works in Poland. The artist, together with Donald Judd, created the bases for minimalism, however, his extensive theoretic and artistic oeuvre goes far beyond the schematic framework of the movement.
The symposium will also cover the artist’s work of later periods when he directed his interests towards the issues of performative, process and somatic aspects of art.

Book: Robert Morris Hearing / Gregor Stemmrich, Listening to Hearing

The second volume of the series of publications connected with Robert Morris will have its premiere on the day of the symposium Following the artist’s texts from the 1960s to 2001 with the first volume, it is time for a thorough study on one of his pieces presented at the exhibition – an installation entitled Hearing (1972). The publication contains Polish translation of the over three-hour-long recording that constituts an essentutial part of the work and an extensive critical essay by prof. Gregor Stemmrich.
