Władysław Strzemiński. Readability of Images
The publication is an attempt at re-interpreting the rich theoretical thought of Władysław Strzemiński and bringing his profile closer to the readers. The articles collected in the book tackle problems of the theory of seeing described by the avant-garde artist and the evolution of his art. Influenced in the same degree by artistic doctrines and personal sensitivity to human plight.
The articles are a documentation of the international conference (held on the 13th and 14th October 2011) devoted to Władysław Strzemiński’s oeuvre. Using and respecting the conclusions arrived at this far Muzeum Sztuki continues the research into the fascinating persona, noticing the potential of Strzemiński’s artistic theories, views of life, art and society and the role he played in the phenomenon of creating the Lódź collection of the avant-garde artists.
